HB INC has offices situated at 255 Weltevreden Road, Corner Brigish Drive, Blackheath. This office falls squarely within the area of jurisdiction (with regard to service of process) of the Gauteng Local Division in Johannesburg, the Johannesburg Magistrates Court, the Randburg Magistrates Court, and the Roodepoort Magistrates Court.

Shaheen Bhyat: LLB

Shaheen Bhyat graduated at the University of the Witwatersrand. He commenced his Articles of Clerkship with HB INC in February 2009, when he completed the remainder of his Articles at Biccari Bollo Mariano Inc. from June 2010 onwards, owing to a merge which took place between HB INC and Biccari Bollo Mariano Inc.

He was admitted as an attorney of the High Court in May 2011 and has been practicing as such to date. Shaheen Bhyat has been at the forefront of all legal matters and has built up a sizable law practice over the past few years resulting in his appointment as the managing director of the firm. In addition to being the managing director of HB Inc, his areas of expertise lie within the fields mentioned above.

Senior Associates

Matthew Campbell: BA LLB

Matthew Campbell is a Senior Associate at the firm. He graduated with a BA LLB degree from the University of Cape Town in 2012. He served his Articles at Randles Incorporated in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court in March 2014. He has been with HB Inc since June 2016.

Matthew Campbell is meticulous with file management and meeting deadlines. He has a great legal mind, particularly in the Criminal Law and Contract Law spheres.

Natalie Bailie: BA LLB

Natalie Bailey is a Senior Associate at the firm. Natalie Bailey completed her LLB degree at the University of Cape Town in 2000. She subsequently completed her Articles of Clerkship at Buchanan Boyes (now Smith Tabata Buchanan Boyes) in August 2002,and was admitted as an attorney in the Western Cape in September 2002.

Natalie Bailey has practiced extensively in Magistrate and High Courts in Civil, Commercial, Insolvency, Landlord and Tenant (evictions), Contractual, Property, Curatorship, and Estate litigation matters.

Natalie Bailey specializes in family and matrimonial litigationand has successfully attended to an extensive number of complex divorces, both opposed and unopposed, in addition to maintenance, domestic violence, and children related matters over the last 18 years of being in practice. She has been with HB Inc since 2019.

She has an empathetic and considerate manner with all clients.

Kyriacou “Jack” Hajibey: Bcom DipLaw, HDipTax

Jack Hajibey is the founder of HB Inc and has been in private practice since 1974. In this time he has developed extensive expertise in the fields of corporate and commercial agreements, taxation, commercial litigation, insolvency, administration of estates, wills and trusts.

Mohamed Amin Mayet BProc

Mohamed Amin Mayet graduated from the University of South Africa in 1980. He has since been in private practice and has considerable knowledge and expertise in the Criminal Law and Dispute Resolution spheres. Mohamed Amin Mayet has the ability to resolve even the most acrimonious disputes in a pragmatic and fair-minded manner.

Mlibo Mgudlwa B Juris LLB; H Dip (Corporate Law) 

Mlibo Mgudlwa comes to the firm with vast experience in the State Advocate’s office and is responsible for general litigation, insolvency, and criminal work.

Shahwar Koor LLB, Conveyancer, Notary

Shahwar Koor graduated at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008 where she acquired her law degree (LLB). She was admitted as an attorney of the High Court, Pretoria 2011.

Kabelo Moiloa graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2019, with a BA LLB degree. He is currently completing his articles of clerkship with the firm.

Her primary area of practice is Conveyancing and Property Law and she has been admitted as a Conveyancer and Notary since 2011.

Secretarial and other staff members

Frances Berchowitz

Frances Berchowitz has been a legal secretary since 1970 and has been with the firm since 1979. She is responsible for amongst other duties, office management, conveyancing, deceased estates, wills and trusts, as well as company registrations and company secretarial work.  Frances has had extensive experience in the running of a collections department and supervision of the progress being made in recovery of debts.

Thembi Mtiyane

Thembi Mtiyane is our office manager. In addition to dealing with clients on a daily basis, Thembi Mtiyane attends to the general administrative requirements of the firm on a day-to-day basis, including inter alia the rendering of statements of account to clients and dealing with general queries which clients may have.

Rachel Saralina

Rachel Saralina is a litigation secretary and has been with the firm since 2015. She is currently reading towards the completion of her LLB degree. Her responsibilities include inter alia, collections, preparation of briefs to Counsel, general office administration, transcribing of dictation.

Kgodiso Sejaphala

Kgodiso Sejaphala is a litigation secretary who is also currently reading towards her LLB degree. Her responsibilities include inter alia, collections, preparation of briefs to Counsel, general office administration, transcribing of dictation.

Juanita Broekman

Juanita Broekman is a litigation secretary and has been with the firm since 2019. She is currently reading towards the completion of her LLB degree. Her responsibilities include inter alia, collections, preparation of briefs to Counsel, general office administration, transcribing of dictation.

Nicole Lerato Van Louw

Nicole van Louw graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 2018, with an LLB degree. She is currently completing her articles of clerkship with the firm.
